Valdemar V. Longoria, age 86, of Holland, was surrounded by his family as he passed from their loving arms into the arms of his heavenly father on Wednesday, March 8th, 2017.
Valdemar was born in Corn City, TX on December 30, 1930. He worked 26 years at Louis Padnos in Holland. He was a hard worker, was always willing to give and help out anyone in need. If you knew him, you would say Valdemar was a kind and quiet man, but in his silence, he spoke much to us, his family. His faith was strong and helped him endure to the end.
He is survived by his wife, M. Socorro Longoria; his children Ernesto (Sandra) Ruiz, Maria (Roland) Garcia, Elvira (Aron) Garcia, Rudy Ruiz, and Martin Longoria; 11 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; sisters: Eva Cantu and Maria Berrios; brothers: Romaldo (Lydia) Longoria, Ismael (Maria) Longoria, Rodrigo (Estella) Longoria; along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents Pablo and Elvira Longoria and brothers-in-law: Tomas Cantu and Fermin Berrios.
Visitation will be from 5-8 pm on Monday, March 13, 2017 at the Langeland-Sterenberg Funeral Home, 315 E. 16th St. Holland, MI 49423. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, March 14 at the Ebenezer Spanish Assembly of God, 157 W. 10th St. Holland, MI 49423. Pastor Aron Garcia will officiate. Interment will be at Restlawn Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions may be given to Ebenezer Spanish Assembly of God.
