Sally Ann Maka, 78, died on Thursday, February 27, 2020, at Resthaven Care Center in Holland, Michigan. She was born on April 23, 1941, in Grand Haven, Michigan, to Royal and Ella Zehner, and was preceded in death by her father, mother, and older brother Royal Zehner, Jr.

Surviving Sally are her younger brother Tom Zehner of Steamboat, Colorado, and his wife Patt; her son Todd Soule and his wife Mary of Holland, Michigan, along with their three children (Sally's grandchildren) Annika Schonewill and husband Kyle of Nashville, Tennessee; Kristen Walcott and husband Eric of Lansing, Michigan; and Katie Soule of Cambridge, Massachusetts. She also is also survived by her daughter Wendy Bloomquist and husband Tom of The Villages, Florida.

In addition, Sally loved visiting with her two great-grandchildren, Jackson and Eli Walcott.

She went to Grand Valley University in the late 1970s where she acquired a BA in psychology and social work, graduating cum laude. As a volunteer operator/counselor with crisis center phone lines for several years, she always tried to help others through difficult situations. Sally enjoyed spending time with family, and in later years, her very good friend Lynn Prince. She was a committed Christian who enjoyed reading her Bible, was devoted to prayer, and frequently interceded for others.

A graveside service will be held at Graafschap Cemetery in Holland, Michigan, on Tuesday, March 3, at 1:00pm. Rev. Leigh Van Kempen, Chaplain for Resthaven, will officiate.
