Peter Keyzer, age 92 of Zeeland went home to be with his Lord and Savior Wednesday, January 27, 2016.
He is survived by his wife Mae (Kruis) Keyzer; children: Christine (John) Steggerda of Holland, Elaine Keyzer of Hudsonville, Reverend Sam (Karen) Keyzer of Lincoln, NE, Ray (Pam) Keyzer of Holland, Nina (Paul) Fields of Mc Bain, MI. Rose (Tony) Breuker of Holland and Kurt (Angie) Keyzer of Borculo; 18 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren; sister Jo Wind of Allendale.
Pete was preceded in death by a grandson David Peter Keyzer, sisters: Gene Kruis and Marie Zylstra; parents Simon and Nellie (Van Dalen) Keyzer.
He attended Messiah's Independent Reformed Church and was a former member of Borculo Christian Reformed Church. Pete served his country in the United States Army in North Africa, Tunisia, France and Germany during World War II.
A special thank you to the staff at Lakeside Vista of Holland for the excellent care Mr. Peter received in his final months and to Hospice of Holland for their support.
Peter was an automotive enthusiast all of his life. Later in life he had a career as an insurance adjuster with Michigan Mutual.
Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Friday, January 29, 2016 at Yntema Funeral Home, 251 South State Street, Zeeland. The funeral service with military honors will be held at 11a.m. Saturday at Messiah's Independent Reformed Church, 4528 48th Street, Holland, MI 49423. Interment will be in Borculo Cemetery.
