Obituary

Pamela Lee Wells, age 75, of Holland, passed away Monday, December 24, 2018 at The Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN.

Pam grew up in Mattawan, Michigan and graduated from Mattawan High School in 1961. She was the Salutatorian of her graduating class. She received her BA in Psychology from Western Michigan University in 1965 and began her career in Human Resources at Borgess Hospital in Kalamazoo. She moved with her family to Sanford, Michigan in 1982, where they lived for nearly 25 years. After some time away to raise her family, she re-entered the work force as the Manager of one of the Midland County Council on Aging's Senior Centers in Midland County, Michigan, a position she held for 18 years.

Pam was a member of the American Association of University Women, Midland County MSU Extension, and the Hope Academy of Senior Professionals (HASP).

Pam dearly loved her family, as well as reading, gardening, and cooking. She was an avid Mahjong player, loved water aerobics, and also enjoyed a good mystery novel and British television shows on PBS.

Pam was preceded in death by her parents, George and Wilma Wear; and sisters, Patricia Larsen and Polly Soule.

Pam is survived by her husband, William "Bill" Wells; daughter, Elizabeth "Beth" and Philip Skaggs of East Grand Rapids; son, Gregory and Wendy (Rosencrans) Wells of El Dorado Hills, CA; grandchildren, Elaine Skaggs, Julia Skaggs, Finnean Wells, Chester Wells; brother, Bruce and Lisamarie Wear of Tequesta, FL; in-laws, William Soule of Branch, MI, Philip Wells of Lansing, MI, and Paul and Michele Wells of Plainwell, MI; and many nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life service is planned for 1:00pm Friday, January 4, 2019 at the Langeland-Sterenberg Funeral Home, 315 E 16th St., Holland, MI. Visitation is scheduled for 4:00-7:00pm on Thursday, January 3, also at the funeral home. Burial will be in Oshtemo Township, MI. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association and condolences may be left online at www.langelandsterenberg.com.
