Nancy was an English teacher at Morrison High School in Morrison, IL, and a substitute teacher in the Holland-area schools. She volunteered with Kids Hope and World Renew, and she tutored children after school. Nancy was a member of Fourteenth Street Christian Reformed Church in Holland.

Nancy's puzzling skills were legendary, and her board game prowess made her a fierce competitor for any opponent. Her faith was a blessing to others, as was her passion for teaching and learning (she pursued her profession only after the birth of her children and picked up golf as a senior). Her love of nature—especially birds and plants—led her to hike, bike, and cross-country ski. Above all, she was a child of God who took great delight in all his creation, especially her family.

Nancy was preceded in death by her first husband, Wilfred "Ben" Bajema; second husband, Thomas Dykhuis; son, William Bajema; brothers, Robert Wiebenga and William Wiebenga; and step-daughter, Henrietta Dykhuis.

Nancy is survived by children, Lou Ann (Steve) Wilkens of Lanark, IL; Randall (Jan) Bajema of Fulton, IL; Gordon (Deb) Bajema of Naples, FL; Jane Rios of Holland, MI; Wilma (Jeff) Butler of Matawan, MI; and Nancy Lynn Dykhuis of Gobles, MI. She was a loving grandmother to 16 and great grandmother to 17. Her sisters, Sandra (Richard) Strikwerda, Margery (Paul) Achterhof, and Beth (Richard) Bosscher; sisters-in-law, Edythe Wiebenga and Audrey Wiebenga; special friends, Raeanne Walters and Shirley Bierema; and all of Nancy's extended family and friends will miss her kind, nurturing spirit and her daily prayers, listening ear, and warm smile.

A memorial service is planned for 11:00am Saturday, July 10, at Fourteenth Street Christian Reformed Church, 14 W. 14th St., Holland, with Rev. Benjamin Petroelje officiating. Burial will take place in Grove Hill Cemetery, Morrison, IL. Memorial contributions can be made to World Renew at https://worldrenew.net or to Kids Hope at https://kidshopeusa.org/.
