Marianne was born August 15, 1927 in Grand Rapids, MI to Nick and Jennie (Zwartenkot) Haadsma. She went home to her Lord on Oct 2, 2017 in Holland, Michigan, aged 90, peacefully in her sleep.

She was preceded in death by her parents, sister and brother-in-law Harriett (Bob) Glupker; brother and sister-in-law Bob (Irmalee) Haadsma and nephew Bill Sherry.

She is survived by her husband Philip E. DeKorn and brother Roger (Pat) Haadsma as well as her special nieces and nephews and their children: Jim (Luanne) Haadsma, Luanne (Larry) Dewey, Mari (Dan) Dawley, Gail Sherry, Sue (Kjell) Haadsma-Svensson, Bob (Jen) Haadsma, Gayle (Jay) Polverelli, Ken Glupker, and Kathy (Ken) Basoff.

Marianne was a graduate of the class of 1945 at Creston High School in Grand Rapids. She married Philip E. DeKorn on Jan 5, 1968 and were married almost 50 years!

She worked for many years as an executive secretary at Davenport College and was a member of First Reformed Church in Holland.

The family would like to thank Theresa Johnson for all the special care over her final years. The family would also like to thank Lisa Barkel, Kris Ide, Jeanette Ide and Hospice of Holland for their caring work.

Funeral services will be 12 noon on Saturday, October 7, 2017 at Langeland-Sterenberg Funeral Home, 315 E. 16th ST. Holland with Rev. John Zwyghuizen officiating. Interment will take place at Rosedale Memorial Park in Grand Rapids. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Friday, October 6, and one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the funeral home. Memorials can be made to the General Fund at First Reformed Church, Holland Michigan.
