Lloyd Folkert age 77, of Hamilton, died Monday, February 8, 2016 at his home.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Belva (Prins) in 2007 and a brother, Bernard Folkert, in 1990.
Lloyd was a member of Hamilton Reformed Church where he served on the sound team for over 40 years. He also volunteered as a Kids Hope mentor through Hamilton Elementary School.
He retired from Hamilton Farm Bureau following 40 years of employment and continued his career at Schipper Egg where he worked for 7 years. He was a veteran of the Army, serving from 1958-1964.
Lloyd is survived by his sons, Calvin and Janie Folkert of Holland, Mark and Julie Folkert of Farmington Hills, Keith and Kristi Folkert of Hamilton; 6 grandchildren, Lauren, Allyson, Aaron, Taylor, Sara and Riley; brother, Jerry and Jeanne Folkert of Allegan; mother-in-law, Muriel Prins of Holland; in-laws, Barb and Ken Helbling of Battle Creek, Ronald and Carol Prins of Zeeland, Vernon and Lois Prins of Holland, Sherwin and Wanda Prins of Hamilton, Kenneth and Flavia Prins of Hamilton; Dear friend, JoAnne Kiger of Holland; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, February 11, 2016 at Hamilton Reformed Church 3554 Lincoln Road (M-40), Hamilton. Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Wednesday, February 10, at Hamilton Reformed church. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Holland or Kids Hope USA.
