Kenneth G. Laninga age 86, of Holland, passed away Tuesday, January 31, 2017 with his family by his side.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Louise Blystra in 1999.
Ken was a member of Hamilton Christian Reformed Church, retired from Hamilton Distributing, and owned and operated Laninga Vinyl Products with his brother, Fred. He served his country during the Korean War, serving in the Air Force.
He is survived by his children, Ken and Kristi Laninga of Mackinaw City, Randy and Laura Laninga of Peoria, IL, Kathy and Bruce De Jong of Holland, Steve and Becky Laninga of Hudsonville, Dave and Sue Laninga of Holland; 12 grandchildren, Nicole Laninga, Adam and Elisha Laninga, Christopher Laninga, Megan and Alex Menocal, Abbey Laninga, Caleb and Kim De Jong, Paige and Joe De Witte, Katelyn Laninga, Karli Laninga, Garrett Laninga, Liz Laninga, Josh Laninga; sisters and brother, Arlene Oosterhouse, Richard and Chantra Laninga, Carol and Reg Babby; in-laws, Carol Laninga, Howard Van Sweden, Ray Van Akker, Irene Blystra, Cornelia Arens, Harriet Haverdink, Sylvia Dykstra, Martha and Jake Terpstra; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services with military honors will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 4, 2017 at Hamilton Christian Reformed Church, 3596 47th St. Hamilton, with Rev. Jacob Porter officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery. Visitation will be 3-7 p.m. Friday, February 3, at Langeland-Sterenberg Funeral Home, 315 E. 16th St. Holland.
