Kenneth Gunneman, age 86 of Hamilton, passed away after a short illness on Tuesday March 7, 2017 at Holland Hospital.
Ken was born May 6, 1930 in Overisel and moved to Hamilton after marrying Alma, his wife of 60 years. He was a longtime member of Haven Reformed Church. After his family, Ken loved anything with wheels, from driving truck all his working years to cars, RVs, jeeps and his passion, motorcycles. Together Ken and Alma covered the United States on trip after trip seeing the sights.
Ken is survived by his wife Alma; daughter, Karen (Lonnie) Voelz: daughter-in-law, Karen (Tim) Sale; granddaughters: Samantha and Sarah Gunneman; step grandsons: Austin and Taylor Sale. Also surviving are sister Joyce (Nelson) Sneller, brother-in-law Vern (Joyce) Barkel, and sister-in-law Carol Gunneman; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Ken was preceded in death by his son, Gregg Gunneman; sister, Clarine Barkel; and brother, Roger Gunneman.
A memorial service will take place at 3:00 PM on Sunday, March 12, 2017 at Haven Reformed Church, 4691 Oak Street Hamilton, MI 49419. Rev. Ron Ver Wys will officiate. Following the service there will be a time of fellowship and refreshments at the church. Memorial contributions may be given to the American Cancer Society or the American Heart Association.
