Jacob "Jack" Essenburg, age 66, of Holland, passed away Friday, January 27, 2016 at his home, surrounded by loved ones.
At age 18, Jack volunteered for the U.S. Navy and served overseas during the Vietnam War. Though Jack is best remembered as one not to be afraid of hard work, he was also an avid New England Patriots and Boston Red Sox fan, active bowler, and golfer. He admired nature, whether walking or enjoying the evening on the deck alongside his wife, Julie. A faithful friend and devoted husband, Jack was undoubtedly adored by his family.

Funeral services with Military Honors will be held at 1:30 Saturday, February 4 at Langeland-Sterenberg Funeral Home, 315 E 16th St., Holland. Reverend Thomas Huskey will officiate. Burial will follow at Pilgrim Home Cemetery. Visitation is scheduled for 4-7pm Thursday, February 2, also at the funeral home.
