Henry Bleeker, 82, of Hamilton, died February 12, 2016.
Henry was born February 14, 1933, in Diamond Springs to Harold and Etta (Barber) Bleeker. After graduating high school Henry went to college to become a teacher. During the Korean War he served his country in the U.S. Army and he married Barbara Jean Pegg in 1955. Henry and Barb raised their family in Hamilton and they are longtime members of Hamilton Reformed Church. Henry retired from Hamilton Community Schools after teaching several years at Bentheim Elementary. In retirement, Henry enjoyed helping maintain Riverside Cemetery in Hamilton, woodworking and classic tractors. Henry was preceded in death by two daughters, Kathy Bleeker in 1963, and Marianne Folkert in 2012, grandson Nathan Nyboer in 1989, great-grandchild Brayleigh Vander Bok in 2013.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Barb Bleeker, children: Tim and Cheryl Bleeker of Hamilton, Teresa and Paul Nyboer of Hamilton; son-in-law Donald Folkert of Hamilton, grandchildren: Lisa and Jon Walters, Tami and Nick Scholma, Jill and Matt Vander Bok, Beth Folkert, Brenda Folkert, Rachael and Kevin Anderson, Matt Nyboer, Rebekah Nyboer; great-grandchildren: Ellery Scholma, Jackson Scholma, Keagan Vander Bok; siblings: Lavina and Don Barkel, Nellie Brower, Lawrence and Gayle Bleeker; sister-in-law Janice Pegg.
Funeral services are 11:00 am, Tuesday, February 16, 2016, Hamilton Reformed Church, 3554 M-40 Hamilton. Visitation is 2-4 and 6-8 pm, Monday at the church. Interment in Bentheim Cemetery. Memorial contributions to Hospice of Holland. Arrangements are by Langeland-Sterenberg Funeral Homes.
