Obituary

Hannah Grace (Lenters) Gosaynie
Our Hannah Grace, named after both grandmothers, has left us to join her heavenly family. She passed away Tuesday, May 1, 2018 at the age of 86.

A graduate of Holland Christian Schools and Calvin College, Hannah began her career teaching 1st grade at Westside Christian School in Holland in 1954. She later taught in Ann Arbor and then on Military bases in Germany, Iceland and England. She taught preschool, kindergarten, 1st and 2nd grades throughout her career. She and her husband enjoyed many trips around Europe and the Far East while on leave from their teaching positions at U.S. Army, Air Force, and Naval Bases.

Upon returning to Holland she then taught preschool at the Methodist Church beginning in January 1992 and retired in May, 2000. Teaching was her life! 46 years…perfect attendance! She was a lifetime member of Central Avenue Christian Reformed Church.

Hannah was born to Derk and Harmina Lenters of Holland on March 1, 1932. She leaves behind her husband, Wally of almost 42 years, brother and sister-in-law Derick (Diane) Lenters of Holland; In-laws, Carl Dale Gosaynie of California, Gary (Jennie) Gosaynie of Owosso. She was a beloved aunt to nieces and nephews: Kathryn (Nathan) M. Rudman of Centerville, MA, John D. Lenters of Wisconsin, Jennifer Grace (Mark) Lyford, of Laramie WY., Melissa Ann Gosaynie of California, Justin Gosaynie of California and Katherine Emily Gosaynie of Owosso. Beloved aunt to great nephew Derk and four great nieces Molly, Halle, Rebecca, and Madison, and a close-knit group of friends from high school, college days and a group of Holland High School girls she chaperoned at the lake.

The family thanks all those who assisted in her care at Holland Hospital, Emergency services and Hospice Care at Appledorn Living Center.
