George Duane Ten Have, 74, passed away Sunday, January 27, 2019.

George was born August 1, 1944, in Holland, to George and Gertrude (Ter Horst) Ten Have. George graduated from Holland Christian High School and worked as a meat cutter for many years at Charlie's Market and Southside Meat. He was a National Guardsman and called to active duty during the Detroit Riots in 1968. For twelve years in the 60's and 70's George also worked as a miner in Tuscon, Arizona. George was very appreciative of his neighbors at Oakland Christian Reformed Church and the kindness, help, and ministry of love they gave to him. He was preceded in death by his father in 1975 and his mother in 1988.

George traveled extensively throughout the United States, South America, China, Greece, and Israel three separate times. He enjoyed hunting trips to Montana with his father and fishing excursions to Canada and Mexico.

George's passion for animals began growing up on the family farm on East 16th Street. Many dogs, cats, horses were loved in his care.

George is survived by his sisters: Myra (Garth) Bonselaar of Holland, Cynthia Milbrand of Holland her significant other Lance Winchester of Saugatuck; nephew Rev. David (Jeannette) Bonselaar of Roswell, Georgia, niece Mary (Steve) Nyhof of Holland, great-nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 12:00noon, Monday, February 4, at Oakland Christian Reformed Church, 4452 38th Street, Hamilton 49419. Memorial contributions to Oakland CRC. Yntema Funeral Home.
