Geneva Lubbers, age 91, of Hamilton, passed away Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, November 23, 2017 at Wings of Hope Hospice, Allegan.

Born in 1926, to William and Hannah Haverdink, she was the youngest and last surviving of 10 children.

She was a member of East Saugatuck Christian Reformed Church where she corresponded with inmates through Crossroads bible Institute. She co-owned and was the bookkeeper for the Lubbers Farm in Hamilton and a nurse at Pine Rest. She and Gerald spent 40 years wintering in Ft. Meyers, Florida at the Raintree Resort.

Geneva volunteered with 4-H as a sewing teacher, with Red Cross, Tulip Time Tour Guide, flower coordinator at Christian Reformed Conference Grounds, and taught Bible School and Sunday School. She enjoyed quilting and making wedding cakes as a hobby.
Geneva was preceded in death by her grandson, Nick Lightfoot.

She is survived by her husband of 70 years, Gerald, children, Paul and Kathy Lubbers of Hamilton, Judy and Randy Lightfoot of Petoskey, Dale and Ruth Lubbers of Portage, Beth and Jack Petroelje of West Olive, Jane and Jody Williams of Cascade; 13 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; in-laws, Shirley Lubbers of Holland, Ellen (Rev. Garry) Hofland of California; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 28, 2017 at Langeland-Sterenberg Funeral Home, 315 E. 16th St. Holland. Burial will be in East Holland Cemetery. Visitation is 4-7 p.m. Monday, November 27, at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be given to Wings of Hope Hospice of Allegan.
