Dale Hulst on November 15, at age 91, was welcomed to his heavenly home with Jesus, surrounded by his family. He was a life-long member of the Christian Reformed Church, serving as a deacon and elder, and most recently a member at Providence Church, where he and wife, Lois, cherished their role of greeting arriving worshippers. He was born and raised in East Saugatuck, served in the US Army 1951-'53, managed the appliance department at Sears '54-'70, co-owned Beckman and Hulst Appliances '70 to '85, was 1974 winner of the National Appliance Retail Dealer of the Year Award, became a stock broker at Baird Buys MacGregor in '85 and served as Officer of Business Development for Paragon Bank until retiring in '93. He was an avid softball player and golfer, and once played in the Firestone International Tournament with some of the professionals he admired. He also enjoyed several years of officiating middle- and high-school basketball games as a referee.

Preceding him to heaven are first wife, Jeanne (Van Huis), to whom he was married 32 years and raised three children, his parents Thomas and Jennie (Tubergan) Hulst, siblings Myra Dykstra, Earlene Bakker and Kenneth Hulst, and son-in-law Mark Vliem. He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Lois (Nykamp), children Tim (Denise) Hulst, Jayne Vliem and Dave Hulst (Joe Michaels), stepson Steve (Krista) Nykamp, sister Beverly Kemme, sister-in-law Sally (Kenneth) Hulst, grandchildren Nathan Largent, Jennifer (Nick) Boudewyns , Adam (Hallie) Hulst, Tiffany Vliem and Krystle Vliem, John Nykamp and Grace Nykamp, and great grandchildren Audrey and Isabelle Boudewyns, Piper Largent and Grace Hulst, plus many nephews and nieces.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, November 20, 2021 at Providence Church, 821 Ottawa Ave. Holland with Rev. Keith Doornbos officiating. Burial will be in Graafschap Cemetery. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Friday. November 19, at Langeland-Sterenberg Funeral Home, 315 E. 16th St. Holland. Memorial contributions may be given to Holland Christian Schools.
