Chester A. Reed, age 80, of Zeeland, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 21, 2016 from dementia.
Chester was born in Muskegon in 1936. After working in the tire business with his father, Chet and wife, Sharon, moved to Holland and started Reed's Tire Service of Holland in 1964. Their first store was on 7th street and later moved to its current location on James Street. For 52 years, Chet enjoyed the tire business, his customers and his employees. His main passion was for traveling in his motorhome. He and his wife enjoyed traveling to Florida in the winter to spend time with friends. During the summer, Chet enjoyed a pontoon boat ride on the lake at Sandy Pines Resort.
Chester was preceded in death by his son, Rocky Reed; son-in-law, Michael Lopez; brothers Lenore of Las Vegas, NV and Harold Jr., Jack and Elmer Reed of Muskegon; Sisters Betty Weston and Nancy Backer of Muskegon.

Several nieces and nephews and many Reed's Tire employees that were like family and countless numbers of good friends.
Cremation has taken place and private family services will be held later. In lieu of flowers, donations in Chester's memory may be made to Hospice of Holland. The family would like to thank the staff of Vista Springs for amazing care they provided Chester during his stay.
