Obituary

Bryan David McGee, age 29, of Cadillac, MI entered his heavenly home on Wednesday, March 24, 2021 due to complications related to his congenital heart condition.

When Bryan was born, his doctors did not expect him to survive, so his life was truly a gift from God and his family is incredibly grateful for the 29 years they were blessed to have with him. He brought tremendous pride and joy to his parents, who consider it one of their greatest privileges to have cared for him and loved him throughout his life. Bryan lit up the room with his friendly smile and sense of humor. Bryan was also a patient listener. He enjoyed talking about faith and life and he was always there for his brothers, sister and friends during difficult times.

At family gatherings, he loved playing games, and regardless of how hard everyone else tried, he was usually one step ahead. He was a good sport, a strategic thinker, and he loved a great battle of the minds. When Bryan had a seat at the table, it was considered a monumental achievement for anyone else to win. He also loved game nights with his friends, who were much fiercer competitors and always gave him a run for his money.

Bryan was very relational and loved spending time with people. He was always willing and eager to lend a hand, especially if it meant being with others. It wasn't uncommon for him to volunteer for mundane tasks or participate in activities that weren't personally important to him as long as he was able to do it with friends.

Upon graduating from Ferris State University, Bryan was hired as a Marine Drafter at Rec Boat Holdings (now Groupe Beneteau) in Cadillac. He was recently promoted to CNC Programmer. Bryan took great pride in his work and wanted his drawings and documentation to make things easier for others in the company to build beautiful boats. He especially enjoyed the thrill of taking the boats out on the water and the delight of using products he helped create. He viewed his engineering team as a family, and he was well-respected by his managers and co-workers both in the U.S. and abroad.

Above all, Bryan was a devoted follower of Jesus Christ and he lived what he believed. His faith was very important to him and he stayed true to his convictions in spite of the many challenges he faced. He was a member of Temple Hill Baptist Church where he served as a trustee and helped with the Awana program. Bryan loved getting together with the men of the church for various activities and fellowship, and he often talked about how grateful he was for his church family and how important they were to him.

Bryan will be greatly missed by his parents, Donald and Lisa McGee of Holland; siblings: Joshua and Devon McGee of Holland, Jeremy and Grace McGee of Indianapolis, Megan and Thierry Noamessi of Paris, France; niece and nephews: Gabbey, Ethan and Liam Lara; grandparents: Lowell and Patricia McGee of Pleasant Lake, Michael and Joan Skeltis of Holland as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
