Bernice Bosscher, 82, of Zeeland, passed away Thursday, February 11, 2016.
Bernice was born in Blendon Township on October 21, 1933, to Benjamin and Clara (Visser) Bruins. Bernice was a talented seamstress, and after retiring she continued doing repairs from her home. She was a longtime member of Bethel Christian Reformed Church where she enjoyed being in the hand bell choir. Bernice loved music. She played piano, organ, harmonica, Omni chord, and accordion in her home. She played gospel music at many worship services, including nearby nursing homes. Bernice was preceded in death by her daughter Beverly in 1984, and her siblings: Junior, Chet, Marguerite, and Marian.
Bernice is survived by her children: Dolores and Daniel Harig of Alto, Henry Bosscher of Holland, John and Florence Bosscher of Hudsonville, Ernesto Hernandez of Dorr, daughter-in-law Rainelle Jansma of Hopkins; 14 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, sisters Eleanor Michmerhuizen and Joan Bruins, in-laws: Ruth and Roger Bremer, Joan M. Bruins, many nieces and nephews.
A funeral service to honor the faith and life of Bernice Bosscher will be held at 1:00 pm, Monday, February 15, 2016, at Bethel Christian Reformed Church, 515 East Main Avenue, Zeeland 49464. Her pastor, Rev. Daniel Kinnas will officiate. Visitation will be 2:00-4:30 pm, Sunday, at Yntema Funeral Home, 251 S. State Street, Zeeland. Interment in Zeeland Cemetery.
