Obituary for Barbara J. Birtles

Barbara J. Birtles, age 85, of Holland, passed away on Sunday, January 16, 2022 at Resthaven Care Center with family by her side.

Barb was a loving wife, and a caring mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was a woman with a big heart who liked to volunteer and support many organizations that provided food, shelter, and medical attention to those who needed it. She was a member of Community Reformed Church and will be remembered for telling stories about her love for fishing, her family, and the Lord.

Barb was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald, in 2008.

She is survived by her children: John & Terri Birtles, Mary & Bill Eicher, Bob & Cindy Birtles, David & Rosa Birtles; 10 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren; brother, Daniel (Karen) Cook; and brother-in-law, Chris (Sandra) Krauter.

A funeral service honoring Barb will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, January 22, 2022 at Community Reformed Church, 10376 Felch St., Zeeland. A time of visitation will be held Friday, the evening prior, from 4:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. at Langeland-Sterenberg Funeral Home, 315 E. 16th St., Holland. Visitation will additionally be held from 1:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. prior to the service at the church.

A second funeral service and visitation honoring Barb will take place Monday, January 24, 2022 at John N. Santeiu & Son Funeral Home, 1139 Inkster Rd. Garden City, MI. The visitation will begin at 2:00 p.m. with the service to follow at 3:00 p.m., all at the funeral home. Burial will take place at Cadillac Memorial Gardens West in Westland, MI.
