Anthony (Tony) Dubois Jr. is celebrating his meeting with his Savior after he peacefully slipped from this world on Thursday, January 28, 2016. He was born on August 18, 1918 and was a member of Graafschap Christian Reformed Church. He was a loving, caring, and hard working man whose main desire was for his seven children to know and love God, read the Bible daily and pray together at the supper table. He was a veteran of WWII, and had many stories to tell about being a fighter pilot in China/Burma/India in the Pacific Theater. For 37 years of his life he was a teacher. He was pulled from his senior year at Calvin College to fill a vacancy at Kelloggsville High school teaching Chemistry. From there he went on to teach physics, calculus, and trigonometry. He also coached football. He continued in his teaching career with 4th grade at Oakdale Christian School in Grand Rapids, was principal at Allendale Christian School for 5 years, and eventually moved his family to Holland, where he taught Math, Bible, and Science for 24 years in Holland Christian Schools until his retirement in 1983. Many of his students spoke of him as their favorite teacher, and he would tell many, "I had your grandma or grandpa in this class years ago." In his retirement years he worked for Worden, Holland Special Delivery, Holland Litho and Enterprise. Many remember him for his ten years as a volunteer at Evergreen Commons as a tax preparer and leader of an Investment Club. Tony was preceded in death by all his siblings: Walter, Jean Werkema, John, Bertha Vandenberg, William, Clarence, and Betty DeBie. He was also preceded by a daughter, Cathleen, and grandson, Jeff Mokma.
