We are so sorry to hear Ivan had lost his battle. It seems like before this Pandemic (back in February) we had talked at church and he was his old self. This must of happened quick. He was always a Happy go Lucky guy, always willing to help in any way. I know both you Leah & Ivan worked hard for the church and we had the cleanest church around! We pray God wraps his loving arms around you and the family as you say goodbye to your husband, father, and grampa! We are so sorry for your loss! He will be dearly missed! Big Hugs & prayers, Love, Verl & Vicky & Chase & Cassie Bleeker

My sincere condolences to your family. I got to know Ivan through our mothers. Along with several other girls, they developed a life-long relationship. It is during these visits that I got to know Ivan. He was smart, friendly and sharing. I have fond memories of operating his large train layout in the garage loft.

Leah, Tim and Deb: what an awesome man! Always there for others. I remember talking in the yard when he came to take care of your mom’s house. He always said to me “ see you at tulip time”. I loved working with him at the parades as he was a tremendous asset to the Ottawa County Red Cross. He was a role model and will be missed! God be with your family

Ike, you will be missed so much. You have made gallons of coffee for the Holland Amateur Radio Club, and you put in over 30 years of helping with the Tulip Time Parade every year.

My condolence to Leah and the Family; Ike has been called home, I learned today
I've enjoyed meeting up with Ike irregularly over the years (after HCHS); always with a smile on his face
So now K8EMU is a "silent key" as we say in the amateur radio hobby ~ rest in peace.

Leah, Tim and Deb,
I remember Ivan as a gentle, humble and caring person. While opportunities to share experiences with him were limited, the times we did spend together are fondly remembered. May God bless and care for you.

I have fond memories of camping trips with the DeWitts. I always liked hearing Uncle Ike talking on his HAM radio in the car while on trips - “This is K8EMU...”. We will remember him as a mild mannered guy with a big heart. We’re thankful, with you, that his difficulties and frustrations because of Alzheimer’s are over and that he will be raised completely healed and whole when Jesus returns.
With love,
Gwen and Mark & family
