Loren Boerman, 72, of Oakland, passed away on Tuesday, October 31, 2017.

Loren was born March 5, 1945, in Bentheim to William and Mabel (Scholten) Boerman. He attended Zeeland High School. Loren started his working career when he was 16 and also served as an Army reservist. Loren was a farmer at heart, and was always growing crops and raising animals throughout his life. Loren spent most of his work life driving truck locally. In the 1960's he met a young woman, Rose Oosting, and they were married September 9, 1966. Loren and Rose attended Central Wesleyan Church. He was preceded in death by his brother Floyd Boerman, brother-in-law Gary Peters, and sister-in-law Dorothy Gesink.

He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Rose, their children: Darrin and Laura Boerman of Hamilton, Rhonda Boerman of Holland, Krista and Rich Fritzler of Saginaw; grandchildren: Rachel Boerman, Peter Sargent, Catherine Fritzler, Meredith Fritzler, Sarah Fritzler, Lydia Fritzler; sister Edith and Zuke Eding, in-laws: Joyce Boerman, Don and Marilyn Oosting, Wesley and Sharon Oosting, Jerry and Norma Oosting, Elwin Gesink, and many extended family and friends.

A service to honor the faith and life of Loren Boerman will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, November 4, 2017, at Langeland-Sterenberg Funeral Home, 315 E. 16th Street, Holland MI 49423. Visitation will be 5-7 pm, Friday, also at the funeral home. Memorials may be made Hungry for Christ, 4565 135th Ave., Hamilton 49419.


Condolence & Memory Journal

So very sorry to hear this sad news. Rosie & family we think of you often & remember the fun we had as newly married couples. Loren stopped at our beach house many times for coffee during his work and many times only friendly face I would see. We live in Tampa FL now but hope to come see you after the winter..or have you come see us. Prayers & Hugs dear cousin

My memories of Uncle Loren always involve times of laughter. He always had a funny story of something that happened....like he and our guys going hunting and getting an unintended animal. I didn't have the honor of living close. Instead I have fond memories of visits from Uncle Loren and Aunt Rosie.
